Instead of bringing the outdoors in, this sun room brings the indoors out. A large sectional sofa, comfy chairs, and lots of pillows create the perfect place to lounge with a good book or play board games with friends during the warm summer days. A classic wood table and chairs add a touch of a rustic feeling while making the sun room the perfect place for family to gather for a meal. This outdoor room is now the number one spot in the house.

This simple and elegant master bedroom combines modern style with touches of refined traditional elements to create the perfect contemporary retreat for these busy parents of three. Oodles of storage, bold colourful prints, paired with classic tonal whites throughout make this a beautifully functional master bedroom. The low-profile modern bedframe allows the king size bed to feel inviting, but without overpowering the space, while the large drapery panels add interest, soften the angular hard edges of remaining furniture, and provide much needed privacy from the neighbours.
Form follows function in this classically designed master ensuite, with lots of utilitarian storage, complemented with delicate details. This once leaky builder basic bathroom, transformed into a bright and beautiful oasis. Taking cues from the home (filled with precious antiques), we brought new life to the bathroom with vintage inspired elements – which can be seen in the detail of the wood vanity, and the soft cloud prints. Large scale, bright white tiles paired with teal glass tiles in the shower reflect the light, giving the illusion of doubling the space, while also adding subtle interest to the otherwise simplistic space.

Country chic was the design inspiration for this main floor of a large country home, but we infused lots of modern city comforts. We took inspiration from the natural surroundings, and chose not to use any window treatments to really show off the beautiful view that surrounds the house. Repurposing many of the homeowners’ existing furniture pieces by having them reupholstered or re-stained, and supplementing with some additional pieces we were able to make this main floor feel comfortable for this family. And with a showstopper kitchen that we designed with all the modern city comforts, who wouldn’t want to gather and hang out on this main floor?

This large basement space needed to have lots of functions to suit the needs of the whole family. With such a large space to work with, we were able to create a spacious lounge area perfect for snuggling up as a whole family to watch TV, an office area, and a place to curl up by the fire on chilly winter days. A warm colour pallet brings everything together, while still allowing the custom brick surround of the wood stove to be the focal point of this space. The end result was the perfect space for the whole family to comfortably spend time together.

This master bedroom is the definition of a tranquil retreat. Subtle floral wallpaper, lamps that mimic tree branches, and lots of natural materials and textures including alpaca fur accent pillows, a sisal area rug, and lots of wood finishes found throughout the space help bring the natural beauty of the outdoors into this peaceful master bedroom. Positioning everything around the large focal windows allows the homeowners to experience the gorgeous sunrises every morning.

This small rental condo was just one open space that needed to serve multiple purposes and have many dimensions to it. Additional storage space was added to compensate for the lack of space in the kitchen, providing room for extra linens, supplies for their pet bunny, and an extra pantry. By infusing the space with family heirlooms and warm wood tones, we were able to accomplish the perfect contemporary design sought by this young professional couple.

This St. Lawrence Market condo was designed for a retired couple starting a new chapter in their lives, filled with travel and time with their growing family. By re-conceptualizing the “assigned” areas of the condo we were able to provide a large dining area for family dinners and a lounge area for relaxing located where the dining area would typically be. It was all tied together with a warm contemporary design with modern accents.
palmilla desert home
This vacation home for a retired couple was designed to be their little piece of paradise. They wanted something different that reflected the picturesque location in Palm Springs, California. In order to make the view the focal point, the house was furnished in neutrals, and accented with the same warm desert tones visible from their front door. The end result is a very simple clean design with punches of vibrant colour, reflecting comfortable living to go perfectly with their new relaxed lifestyle.

The clients wanted a vibrant space that reflected the desert location of the home. They had a difficult time deciding where to place furniture, since it was the centre of the home and could be seen from almost every other room in the house. We created a custom built-in unit to mirror the existing design of the kitchen to tie the two spaces together. By placing pieces pulled away from the walls, using smart-designed furniture such as a drop leaf dining table as a console table, and placing swivel chairs in front of the television, we were able to create a comfortable sitting area that fit in all the clients' requirements.

A family home that was starting to see its wear and tear after thirty years was given a little facelift after their three children had moved out. We wanted to keep the design true to the style of the home, and the taste of the homeowners, so we went with an updated traditional look. Carrying lots of rich cherry wood tones throughout the home in the hardwood floors and the new kitchen cabinetry, we were able to provide the traditional look and feel the homeowners were craving. Adding boldly patterned accent wallpaper in the living and dining room, and unique stone countertops in the kitchen, we were able to add lots of personality to the spaces while still maintaining a simple yet elegant aesthetic.
